A member of the Paris and New York Bars, and a registered specialist in intellectual property law for over 15 years, Jean-François Guillot joined DELCADE as a partner and a member of the firm’s IP/IT team in 2024.
Jean-François works for French and international clients in the different areas of industry, including the life sciences, medical devices, luxury, consumer goods, beverages, automotive, mechanics, energy, electronics, telecommunications…
He holds an extensive experience in representing clients in patent validity and infringement litigation, as well as trademark, design, copyright and domain name litigation, in complex matters with cross-border aspects, including, interim injunctions, customs litigation and litigation relating to employee inventions, trade secrets and unfair competition.
His experience encompasses international arbitration and mediation.
Jean-François also regularly advises clients in non-contentious IP matters, including drafting and negotiating technology transfer, assignment, licensing or coexistence agreements, auditing and managing IPR portfolios, as well as providing freedom to operate opinions.
Before joining DELCADE, Jean-François practiced IP law within prominent French and international firms, including Oppenheimer Wollf & Donnelly, Howrey, Hoyng ROKH Monégier and Amar Goussu Staub.
Jean-François graduated from Paris Panthéon-Assas University (DESS in industrial property, DEA in general private law – LL.M. equivalents) and New York University School of Law (LL.M. in trade regulation). He is a member of many professional associations, including the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI), the Association of European Patent Practitioners (APEB), the Licensing Executive Society (LES), and the French American Bar Association (FABA).
